The RSX® Egress Operator is designed with paramount safety in mind, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards. Its UL325 listing signifies that it meets rigorous safety requirements for garage door operators, providing users with confidence in its reliable operation. This focus on safety is crucial for any application where secure and controlled door movement is essential.
Key safety mechanisms include an advanced DC break system, known as Progressive Breaking, which ensures a smooth and controlled stop for the door, minimizing wear and tear. Furthermore, the release clutch mechanism is a critical safety component, designed to disconnect the operator's drive train. This allows the grille to move to a fully open position automatically upon receiving an alarm signal, activation of an egress push-button, or in the event of a power loss, facilitating safe and unobstructed exit.
The RSX® Egress Operator boasts advanced connectivity features, making it a versatile solution for various security and access control systems. Its integrated advanced radio receiver system is a standout feature, capable of automatically seeking and locking onto frequencies. This ensures a stable and reliable connection with compatible transmitters.
This sophisticated receiver can quickly and easily learn up to 250 CodeDodger® transmitters, offering significant flexibility for managing access. Additionally, the operator includes a programmable timer, adjustable via an LCD display, with settings ranging from two seconds to five minutes. This allows for customizable door hold-open times, enhancing operational efficiency and security protocols.
Addressing the diverse power requirements of different installations, the RSX® Egress Operator features Voltage Freedom with its Voltamatic® technology. This innovative system simplifies installation by accommodating a wide range of single-phase and three-phase voltages with just a few specific units.
Specifically, one unit is designed for single-phase voltages (115/208/230V), another for three-phase voltages (208/230/460V), and a third for higher three-phase 575V applications. This eliminates the need for complex voltage conversion or multiple operator models, making the RSX® Egress Operator a highly adaptable and cost-effective choice for various commercial and industrial settings.
The operational heart of the RSX® Egress Operator lies in its robust motor and drive system, engineered for durability and performance. The operator is equipped with an open drip-proof motor, available in either ½ or 1 horsepower options, catering to different door weight and operational demands. It also offers flexibility in power configuration, being available in both single and three-phase models.
Complementing the motor is the primary reduction system, which utilizes SuperBelt®. This advanced auto-tension poly-V flex belt is a significant advantage as it requires no adjustment, ensuring consistent power transmission and reducing maintenance overhead. This combination of a powerful motor and a self-adjusting belt system contributes to the operator's reliability and longevity.
